Terms of Sales

Here's your translation of the Terms and Conditions into British English:

Article 1 / Duration of Stay

The client signing this fixed-term contract may not under any circumstances claim any right to remain on the premises.

Article 2 / Booking Formalities

Upon receipt of your booking, we will send you written confirmation by email – or, failing an email address, by post – and request payment of a deposit equivalent to one night per room within a maximum of two weeks (or more quickly for bookings made at shorter notice). Once this deposit is received, the booking becomes confirmed. By paying the deposit, you confirm your full agreement with the terms and conditions specified below. Please note that without payment of the deposit within the specified timeframe, the booking is not confirmed and we consequently reserve the right to release the rooms.

Article 3 / Cancellation of Stay by the Client

Any modification is only possible with the agreement of Domaine de la Castagnère and may incur additional charges.

Please note that in the event of cancellation before the start of the stay, the client shall owe a penalty as follows:

  • If cancellation occurs more than 15 days before the arrival date, the deposit will be refunded in full;

  • If cancellation occurs less than 14 days before the arrival date, the full payment shall be retained by Domaine de la Castagnère, unless we are able to re-let the room(s).

In the event of early departure during the stay: full payment of the booked accommodation is required.

Article 4 / Cancellation Insurance

We draw your attention to the fact that no cancellation insurance is included in our rates. We therefore strongly recommend taking out such insurance.

Article 5 / Cancellation of Stay by the Owner

If, before the start of the stay, the owner is required to cancel the booking, the client must be immediately informed by recorded delivery letter. The client will then be immediately and fully refunded all amounts already paid. The client will additionally receive compensation equal to the penalty they would have incurred had the cancellation been made by them on that date.

Article 6 / Arrival Time

Clients must arrive on the date specified when booking, no earlier than 5:00 pm (time when rooms are available and keys provided) and no later than 7:30 pm. Clients must telephone ahead if they are forced by circumstances to arrive after this time (06 44 31 05 97). Please try not to arrive after 9:30 pm wherever possible.

Article 7 / Departure Time

The checkout time for rooms is 10:00 am at the latest.

Article 8 / Payment of Remaining Balance

The balance of the stay must be settled the day before departure, at the client's initiative.

Article 9 / Insurance

Clients are responsible for all damage occurring through their actions. They must be insured by a holiday insurance policy covering these various risks.

Article 10 / Room Changes

Without the client being entitled to any compensation, the owner reserves the right to change the room originally booked to one of equal or greater capacity. In such cases, the booking cost remains unchanged.

Article 11 / Pets

Pets are not permitted. By exception, small pets are accepted, but only in the Agathe room. If the client fails to comply with this clause, the owner may refuse the animals.

This refusal cannot under any circumstances be considered a modification or breach of contract by the owner, and in the event of the client's departure, no refund will be considered.

Article 12 / House Rules and Use of Premises

To ensure the tranquillity of the property and the comfort of guests at Domaine de la Castagnère, a certain standard of behaviour is required of all. Guests are specifically requested not to smoke inside the bedrooms and communal areas. Clients undertake more generally to respect the house rules that will be indicated to them, those required when living in a community, and these general terms and conditions of sale.

Clients undertake to leave the rooms in perfect condition at the end of their stay and to systematically report – and accept financial responsibility for – any damage for which they are responsible. Please note that the kitchens at Domaine de la Castagnère are not available for guests' use.

Guests' attention is drawn to the fact that minors on the property are under the sole and complete responsibility of their parents or guardians.

Domaine de la Castagnère accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft and/or damage or injury to property and/or persons on the premises, whatever the cause.

The animals at Domaine de la Castagnère are not toys. They are at home. Do not chase them. If they wish, they will come to you. Respect them.

Article 13 / Modification of Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions may be modified at any time without notice. Acceptance and compliance with these terms and conditions are deemed to be acquired as soon as the deposit is paid.

Article 14 / Data Protection

In accordance with Act No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 relating to data processing, files and freedom, you have the right to access and rectify data concerning you. We undertake never to pass on the information you have provided to us to other companies or organisations.
